Introduction
The Ways of Knowing Through the Realms of Meaning (Kritsonis, 2007) offers a pragmatic framework to strategic planning that will move educational organizations in innovative directions. In developing a strategic plan, an educational organization must implement Dr. Kritsonis’ (2007) six fundamental patterns of meaning designated respectively as symbolics, empirics, esthetics, synnoetics, ethics, and synoptics. Strategic planning is the process in which an educational organization determines its current status, envisions its long-term goals, makes projections for the future, and develops strategies to achieve those future aspirations. Strategic planning must be flexible and practical and yet serve as a guide to implement programs to evaluate the educational organizations progress. A strategic plan intertwining the six fundamental patterns of the Ways of Knowing Through the Realms of Meaning (Kritsonis, 2007) constructs innovative analytical and critical thinking that will improve and enhance the performance of educational organizations.
Purpose of the Article
The purpose of this article is to discuss ways in which strategic planning implemented by utilizing the Ways of Knowing Through the Realms of Meaning (Kritsonis, 2007) creates a high performing educational organization. Skilled strategic planning makes a current assessment of needs, develops the educational organization’s future thinking, builds commitment, and serves as the guiding document for the educational organization. Effective strategic planning includes articulating the educational organization’s vision, mission, and values to set a course for future aspirations.
The First Realm: Symbolics
The first realm of meaning is symbolics. Dr. Kritsonis (2007) states that ordinary language such as gestures, rituals, and rhythmic patterns allow people to communicate on a personal level. Effective leadership is the cornerstone of an educational environment. Eaker and Gonzalez write about learning leaders.

Professors and teachers do much more than just teach our kids the things they need to know in order to be able to graduate and go on to college, or get jobs. People do not realize all of the little things that teachers do in order to be able to teach their classes. Teachers have to create their own lesson plans, create tests and exams, grade tests and other assignments and keep track of those grades, and so much more. Often, you will find quite a few filing cabinets in a typical classroom, and these are filled to capacity with all of the things that teachers have to deal with every single day. This is a really good reason why teachers should switch to a much easier form of paper filing system so that they can find what they need quicker and easier.
If you are a teacher, you know all too well how much paperwork accumulates on your desk in the course of a day, and at the end of a week, you may even be buried under all of the paper files that you know needs to be filed away, but how to file for easy retrieval is mind-boggling. You may think that a file management system such as indexing software for filing is something that is just for businesses, but it is something that can really make your job a whole lot easier and free up a lot of your time. You can eliminate a lot of the clutter from your classroom, and your mind, so you are free to do what you really want to do: teach.
Some of the things that you can use for this document management filing system include:
- lesson plans
- keeping track of grades and notes for students

On the one side Indians are considered as the proud owner of glorious education system in the past and on the other side we the same Indian are considered as one of the nations with poorest education structure in the world -with millions of illiterates in the country- even poorer than the countries those stands nowhere near us in the development in the last few years. On the other hand various other countries are amazed by the quality of the human resources that the Indian education system has produced. There was a time when India’s education system was considered as the best in the world and followed and adored by renowned scholars from every part of the world. But with the time this glorious system lost its luster and a time came when it hit its lowest ebb. There may be varied reasons behind this continued and long decline in the quality of education system in India. One of the prominent reasons was the social structure of the Indian society. Like Women and people of lower castes were not considered good enough to be educated thus denied the right to educate themselves and this continued for centuries altogether till eighteenth century. It was only in the middle of the eighteenth century with the spread of Jainism, Buddhism, Bhakti and Sufi movements did some liberating effects on the condition of the women and lower caste people known as sudra started to appears. But in the real sense it was the English language and the reformation movements of the 19th century that had the most liberating effect in pre-independent India. Although there was no real change in the education system or level of education in the India but certainly there started a thought process to check this menace of illiteracy. So it is the Britishers that can be credited for bringing a revolution in the Indian education system.

Getting organized can be so overwhelming. This is especially true when it comes to paper filing. Knowing where to start, where to file, and how to keep track of everything is the biggest frustration for those who want to organize their paper files. Add to that frustration, the ability (or not) to be able to quickly retrieve the files quickly when you need them. Anne McGurty of Strategize & Organize says, ‘getting organized is right up there with losing weight for the new year. It’s a great new year’s resolution, however, like dieting, it is a lifestyle change rather than a temporary solution. The answer is a filing system and document management software, so filing can be easier, faster and more organized, and retrieval of filed documents will be even faster.
Let’s face it, getting organized is a pain! As a result, many people put off getting organized, only for the clutter to continue to get worse….and the new year’s resolution is once again, off the list, but knowing where to get started can help to minimize the intimidation of getting organized.
Say Goodbye To Traditional Methods of Filing
The first step is to find a better paper filing system. Traditional methods can be confusing, frustrating, and just as disorganized as the mess on your desk. However, the right document management software can help you to retrieve the paper files you need to find more easily, quickly and conveniently with a simple keyword search in the database.
The Most Efficient Filing System Software is not just a filing system – It is a paper filing system that can help you to get organized, and turn your filing system into a finding system! You won’t have to worry about how to label your files. It will allow you to file each item by name and give a list of keywords to describe the file. That means no more confusion in the office or at home when someone else is trying to find the file or you have forgotten what you labeled it.

Political leaders, tech executives, and academics often claim that the U.S. is falling behind in math and science education. They cite poor test results, declining international rankings, and decreasing enrollment in the hard sciences. They urge us to improve our education system and to graduate more engineers and scientists to keep pace with countries such as India and China.
Yet a new report by the Urban Institute, a nonpartisan think tank, tells a different story. The report disproves many confident pronouncements about the alleged weaknesses and failures of the U.S. education system. This data will certainly be examined by both sides in the debate over highly skilled workers and immigration. The argument by Microsoft, Google, Intel, and others is that there are not enough tech workers in the U.S.
The authors of the report, the Urban Institute’s Hal Salzman and Georgetown University professor Lindsay Lowell, show that math, science, and reading test scores at the primary and secondary level have increased over the past two decades, and U.S. students are now close to the top of international rankings. Perhaps just as surprising, the report finds that our education system actually produces more science and engineering graduates than the market demands.
These findings go against what has been the dominant position about our education system and our science and engineering workforce. Consider reports on national competitiveness that policymakers often turn to, such reports as the 2005 “Rising Above the Gathering Storm” by the National Academy of Sciences. This report says the U.S. is in dire straits because of poor math and science preparation.
The report points to declining test scores, fewer students taking math and science courses, and low-quality curriculums and teacher preparation in K-12 education compared to other countries.

If you ask a lot of kids if they enjoy science a good portion of them will make a face or tell you that it is not their favorite subject. Despite the disinterest in science for a lot of children, we can and should foster a love of astronomy in children. In fact, it is often easier to introduce children and foster this interest than one might think! Once you get kids started, they often cannot get enough of astronomy! When you work with kids on this subject you will find that you can almost see their minds expanding.
If you tell your students that you are going to teach them about astronomy you may hear a few groans of protest. Before you allow this to bring you down, ask them if they know what astronomy means. Let them know that this is not just about science, but about the planets, starts, and space in general. You may be surprised at how excited kids become, as most consider space to be very “cool”.
Introducing Astronomy
You’ll want to start out teaching children about the planets. You can teach them the names, show them what they look, and where they are in relation to one another as well as in relation to the earth. If you want to get them really involved, allow them to create a model of the solar system. Many kids enjoy hands on projects and this is one way that you can allow all of your students to get up close and personal with astronomy.
Students will enjoy learning about the solar system but they will likely also enjoy learning about the universe. You can teach them about the Milky Way and then you can extend these lessons out to learn more about the galaxies and nebulae and black holes. There is a lot of really interesting information that will excite children and get them thinking about astronomy a lot more than they currently do.
